Glassy and lustrous, colorless, chabazite variety phacolite crystals RICHLY cover both sides of this excellent and very showy CABINET crust from Gads Hill, Tasmania. Chabazite is common, but phacolite is UNCOMMON from the Flinders area and this an outstanding, large specimen (largest plate I have seen, anyhow). Phacolite is a lens-shaped variety of chabazite, due to twinning/multiple twinning of the rhombohedrons. Ex. George Elling Collection.
