When these new Carrollite specimens were first found about 5-6 years ago, they were instantly regarded as the best of species ever found. Some of the largest, sharpest, most impressive crystals of this rare copper, cobalt, nickel sulfide came out of this find. This particular specimen features hosts a few fine, sharp, well formed, lustrous, silvery color, octahedra up to 6 mm with very slight cubic modifications. Crystals of Carrollite on matrix are less common in my experience. These pieces seemed to have dried up quickly, and I don't know if more will be found.
