Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Cananea, Sonora, Mexico
Small Cabinet, 6.6 x 3.8 x 1.3 cm
Pretty much any new azurite find causes a lot of excitement, as did this recent find in Milpillas, Mexico. What you mostly had were euhedral crystals, some of them quite large, but mostly sheared off and partial due to tight pocket growth; in association with malachite. This is quite an unusual and pretty piece for the find - a field of intense, sparkly blue microcrystals with amazing color - with some sharp, isolated, euhedral crystals to 0.7 cm.
