Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Cananea, Sonora, Mexico
Small Cabinet, 6.4 x 4.4 x 3.9 cm
A rich specimen of azurite from Mexico, hard to obtain now, from a batch we purchased from the Milpillas locality. There is a fair amount of contacting here, but also sharp, terminated crystals to over one centimeter, some of them showing the blue "fire" that is highly sought-after in azurites from any locality. You can see minor pseudomorphing to malachite going on that gives the green accents.
