Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Cananea, Sonora, Mexico
Miniature, 3.4 x 2.1 x 1.1 cm
One of a handful of azurite specimens we got our hands on, very hard to obtain, from the Milpillas (Mexico) locality. These are often sort of crumbly and unremarkable matrix pieces, with small crystals, still desirable as locality pieces. But this one is a very large, single crystal, with sharp, lustrous faces - complete all the way around! It even has that flashy blue fire from certain angles that you rarely see in azurites. Accenting malachite on back.
