Arrojadite (KFe)
Arrojadite-(KFe) is a potassium iron sodium calcium aluminum phosphate and a member of the Arrojadite Group. It forms subhedral, dark green, green, yellow-green, cleavable {100} masses that exhibit a vitreous to greasy luster. It is named for Miguel Arrojado Lisboa, a Brazilian geologist. The Arrojadite Group was redefined in 2005, resulting in the division of this mineral into two minerals, renaming them with hyphenation, and reassigning type locality. Arrojadite-(KFe) occurs as a primary phosphate in granite pegmatites and is associated with graftonite, cassiterite, spodumene, beryl, muscovite, and quartz at the type locality: Nickel Plate mine (Nickel Plate pegmatite), near Keystone, Pennington Co., South Dakota, USA.
