Yellow Fluorites from Annaberg, Germany
These are 80% or more of the finer pieces from a small new find in the old German silver district of Annaberg! Annaberg is famous for its yellow fluorites, from centuries ago. This little find rekindles hopes of artisanal fluorite mining here, but I am told it was a long time in coming and not to hope for many more. These first appeared to market at the Munich Show in the end of 2015. Frohnau is a village in the Saxon borough of Annaberg-Buchholz in the district of Erzgebirgskreis in southeast Germany. The discovery of silver on the Schreckenberg led in 1496 to the foundation of the neighbouring mining town of Annaberg (Wiki).
