Botryoidal Crystal Classics
May 12, 2015 - A selection of a variety of crystals and fine minerals for sale that exhibit botryoidal (rounded) overall crystal growth, giving the illusion of ball-shaped or hemispherical crystals.
PREHNITES: These pieces have unusually good translucency and color for the material, which has been on the market in quantity if not quality. This prehnite from this particular recent find and source is MUCH better than previous lots form the locale for color, translucency, and form.
CORNETITE: From the type locality of Star of the Congo Mine ("l'Etoile du Congo"), blue crystals of cornetite shimmer in the light like sugary sprinkles.
SHATTUCKITE: From a 2013 find, these shattuckite specimens exhibit varying shades of blue and were identified by the University of Arizona after mistakenly being identified as plancheite.
