A wildly crystallized, anthropomorphic Copper specimen from the Copper Falls Mine. There are distinct Copper crystals, both equant ones up to 1 cm and elongated crystals up to 2.5 cm. Perhaps there is some spinel twinning in the neck of the piece. That, or a sinuous cluster. The Copper has good luster and excellent Copper patina with subtle coloration tones. This was found during the heyday here in 1844-1850's, as evidenced by a date of "1855" on the back of this antique French label. There is also a name of a collector or perhaps miner, that we cannot make out in translation due to the archaic cursive script. Overall, a fanciful and sculptural specimen with obvious display qualities quite different than most!
