This is a rather large, lustrous, and unusual tan prehnite from the famous Jeffrey Mine in Quebec, Canada. It is encrusted with smaller prehnite crystals although given the color and texture, there may be some alteration going on. Most prehnite occurs in botryoidal form, so this one is special for the crystal habit and the size, for a single prehnite crystal, is also unusual. Unique occurrence in this now-closed quarry!
