Here is the 1st of 2 "smaller" ammonites in this offering. A lot of collectors like these relatively little ammonites for their perfection and usable display size. Many larger specimens are either repaired, not as intense in color on an overall basis, or are just too expensive. This one is a beautiful intercalate, 7" in length. It basically can fit into the palm of your hand. It is a perfect and complete ammonite, with great shape and 3-diimensionality to it (nice and plump). As well, the nodules are really nicely preserved around the whorl. It shows ALL the colors and has large areas of blue and purple which are relatively uncommon compared to the other hues. This color combination, however, made it very difficult to photograph and it is somewhat better in person. This is a superb piece, a real "specimen quality" the likes of which is just rare in fossils in a way that meets mineral collector demands for perfection and aesthetics, in a good size to match with a mineral collection as well
