Classic cubic crystals of cobaltite on a calcite matrix from Ontario, Canada....but of remarkable size for the locality! These crystals have a nice bright luster and are up to 1.2cm on edge. The specimen is very rich with many sharp crystals throughout the piece. This piece is from the Sudbury district, an area highly active in mining and one of the top locations in the world for cobaltite specimens in the old days. However, good display specimens were always rare, even then. This is one of the best I have seen. Former Edna Doughty collection with label.
