This rare species is the monoclinic dimorph of Carminite. It is very rare from Tsumeb (and in fact unreported on MinDat, I see) ! This specimen was sold to me some years ago as red tsumcorite in the Willy Israel Collection. Mark Feinglos expressed suspicion of this identity and suggested I send the piece to Dr. Terry Seward (Sewardite) for further study, which I did. Terry analyzed it every which way (XRD and microprobe) to confirm this is not simply red tsumcorite and then bought the miniature and trimmed off this thumbnail for me. It is indeed one of the most vetted examples of this rarity imagineable. Comes with full analytical data, letters, and label from Dr. Seward, who is an expert on carminite and related speecies - such as the newly described Sewardite (with my thanks!) .
