Stokesite is a rare calcium-tin silicate and the Urucum claim has produced the most attractive specimens of the species, considered world's best by far, in the late 1990s and into early 2000s (though this is an older one). This particular piece is unusual in that it is a very attractive stokesite matrix specimen in contrast to the loose, single spheres which are more typical. This small cabinet specimen features several spheres up to 2 cm across of pinkish tan stokesite composed of a myriad of tightly clustered, bladed crystals which sit on a lepidolite-rich matrix. Small clusters of pale tan cookeite are sprinkled across the specimen for added interest. This is a huge specimen with huge crystals of display quality !
