An amazing and sculptural Fluorite specimen from Illinois with great yellow and purple colors and superior luster! This is an example of classic, historic Illinois Fluorite styles with the tip of two cubes each perched on a thick, combined stalk that used to be the center of the same cube. This is very three-dimensional piece that consists of two Fluorite three-faced pyramids each consisting of a trio of glassy faces sitting atop thick stalks of etched Fluorite. The faces are incredibly lustrous with the interiors a transparent to translucent yellow rimmed by 2 to 3 mm, rich, transparent purple rims. The stalks are a translucent yellow with a satin luster, one showing a circular etch pattern and the other a broad V-shape. Tiny, less than 1 mm, brassy yellow crystals of Chalcopyrite are sprinkled internally near the surface for added effect. A very sculptural and aesthetic specimen that showcases the wonderful cube faces perched on a pedestal. In perfect condition! The old miners called these "mushrooms" for obvious reasons.
