Purple is top coloration for Panasqueira Fluorapatite crystals, and they are among world class examples for the species. This happens to be a gemmy to translucent, two-toned lavender, textbook single crystal of the species. The crystal has super lustrous, striated prism faces and a very lustrous flat pinacoid termination that provides a very clear view down into the crystal revealing a turbid core and a gemmy to translucent exterior! The top 2 mm of the crystal at the termination is also very gemmy. There is a 4 mm cluster of snow-white Calcite near the bottom on one side for very nice contrast. It is contacted on the bottom where it was intergrown with other Fluorapatite crystals. A lovely thumbnail!
