Over the decades, Yaogangxian has continued to surprise us with the exceptional range of fluorite (and indeed, all) specimens it produces, and there's a reason it has earned a place as one of the world's most beloved fluorite localities. This is a dramatic, translucent and glassy example of sharp cubes, with dreamy, sky-blue crystal cores, surrounded by a relatively colorless zone, and completed by a paper-thin purple zone. The largest crystal is over 5 cm on edge and those edges are so sharp that you can cut a finger on a corner. This is a really beautiful piece with a combination of geometry and color that is difficult to convey from a video, and more apparent to the human eye in person. As it is thin, it has amazing glowing color and transparency with even a little backlighting in a showcase, whereas most crystals of this size would normally be darker in a case.
