Three crystals growing together form a dramatic pinnacle atop a well-trimmed bit of matrix, on this outstanding old miniature from the 1980s finds of cobaltoan, "hot pink" calcite. I bought it years ago, in the 1990s, from dealer Ken Roberts, who brought many of the most aesthetic examples to market in the USA. It is a well balanced and perfect specimen with nearly the richest color. It has good translucency, although no backlighting is needed to show the color. It was in my own personal collection of calcites for decades - which I found difficulty parting with and have only done so, slowly, over time. The crystal is 2.8 cm tip to tip (doubly terminated).
