Hardin County, Illinois is famous for the volume and variety of fine fluorites discovered there. This bright orangey-yellow piece has complex surface formations, but still maintains a wet luster. Together, it is that intense and more rare color combined with the luster, that makes this desirable - most specimens lack one or the other feature. Yellow fluorites in particular, from here, tend to be either lusterless or pale. The edges feature a paper-thin phantom of purple, with an outside zone of lavender blue. A fine display example, that really stands out amongst more common purple and blue fluorites from Illinois.
