Gorgeous specimens of Azurite and Malachite have trickled out of Laos over the last couple of decades and have been offered for sale in southern China. This colorful cabinet piece features numerous, velvety to shimmering, intricately arranged Malachite botryoids from 3 mm to over 1 cm across. They are variegated from light to medium green and dominate the landscape of the piece as they stretch across it, interspersed with knots of royal blue Azurite. The texture almost looks like a Malachite "brain"! The piece is in excellent condition with only minor contacting around the periphery. The back is interesting too as it is mostly Malachite with some off-white breccia fragments along with some Azurite veining in places. An unusual, beautiful specimen with lots of subtle details, very different from most.
