This stunning small cabinet Fluorite is from the famous Yaogangxian Mine in China, which is one of the top contemporary localities for Fluorite. The entire crystal cube is so transparent and has so much going on inside it's like looking into a pale blue aquarium with a purple cube dropped in it starts with a pale blue core that is then outlined by a 2.8 cm purple zoned triple phantom with thin demarcations, followed by a thick 2 cm outer zone of pale pastel blue! The marked purple zone has tremendous visual impact. This lustrous Fluorite has sharp edges with some intricate cubic growth forms on select faces. There are some small shards of gray matrix present in one small area suggesting a point of attachment. It is in good condition overall with some chatter along the edges and corners, although when you display it to make the phantom effect dominate, the edges are secondary and to the outside anyways. It is therefore not perfect, but it has such a unique display impact for the contrast of phantom to clarity around it, that we have chosen not to bother to fill the small edge wear with epoxy for restoration and to leave it natural. A super unusual Fluorite from Yaogangxian, from a single strange pocket found in 2020. Only a few crystals of quality were recovered.
