A true Spanish classic, these pyrites are sharp and dramatic. The main pyrite here, bright and reflective, reaches 3 cm on edge, with numerous significant accent crystals. I had the pleasure of exploring the Navajun mining area as part of filming for Mineral Explorers on PBS and these treasures densely poke out from the clay walls. Like many of the specimens from this find, this piece has been repaired, lock and key replacing the pyrite into the matrix where it fell out of the soft clay during mining. From the personal collection of one of the workers and preparators at the mine, who had set back a dozen fine specimens he worked on over the years and sold us the little collection recently.
