The ancient Trepca mines in Kosovo still hold surprises, like this beautifully complex cluster of bournonite, pyrite, sphalerite, and calcite. The 2 cm bournonite in the center of the cluster is dramatically positioned, rising up from the matrix, which plays host to hundreds of glittering pyrites and glassy sphalerite crystals.
