A colorful Fluorite and Quartz combination specimen from China with complex zoning, which is actually something this mine is most famous for but seldom seen in so many color gradients on one single specimen. This splendid cabinet piece hosts two generations of purple and green Fluorite atop pearly white Quartz crystals. An earlier generation of transparent to translucent, sea-green Fluorite cubes cascade down one side of the piece and all of these crystals have a faint, but distinct, 0.5 mm thick purple zone just a couple of millimeters into each of the crystals producing a great color contrasting phantom. In contrast, the other side of the piece is dominated by clustred, medium purple Fluorite cubes that also exhibit a similar, thin purple phantom just inside the exterior, but these are a darker purple. Some of these Fluorites actually show bicolor purple and green resulting from the purple Fluorites overgrowing the earlier green Fluorite crystals. All of the Fluorites on this lovely piece vary in size between 0.5 and 2 cm across and these beautiful phantoms stand out upon the sparkling, pearlescent Quartz crystals. This is a really unique, colorful, piece with so many colors, it takes a bit of time to adjust to see it in depth. Very unusual, even from this mine full of surprises. Probably found in 2018.
