Wulfenite
Los Lamentos Mts, Ahumada Mun., Chihuahua, Mexico
Small Cabinet, 10.6 x 8.6 x 6.9 cm
Ex. Dr. Miguel Romero
SOLD

A glistening Los Lamentos Wulfenite specimen from the important Senator Dr. Miguel Romero collection with not only intense caramel-orange color and coverage, but also the best natural, wet-looking luster to the crystals that this mine produced. It is richly and aesthetically covered in 3 to 7 mm, interconnected, blocky crystals on a stark white, banded Calcite matrix that coats a fragment of brown-red, igneous host rock. The appeal of the form, the thick blanket of crystals on matrix, and the color/luster combination makes it a striking example for classic old Lamentos Wulfenite without breaking the bank. The horizon is complete all around and comes to slightly rounded point at the top for great affect. It is very three dimensional and appealing. It's nearly pristine overall with only a few barely discernible nicks at the top of the piece. It comes with two versions of Dr. Miguel Romero's labels.
