Microlite on Tourmaline

Pech, Kunar Province, Afghanistan
One of two highly unusual association pieces I got in a recent shipment, featuring a 1.1-centimeter octohedral microlite perched on an indicolite tourmaline. The ends of the tourmaline appear to be broken and then naturally rehealed. The microlite is missing part of one corner in the rear, but otherwise is in excellent shape, particularly for being so exposed to the elements. Most unusual, as I cannot think of seeing another microlite directly on tourmaline from these localities!
