Here we have a superb and very unusually translucent, grape-like cluster of green Prehnite spheres from the Kayes Region in Mali. The Prehnite spheres are of exceptionally high quality with translucent to nearly transparent, gorgeous green balls from 1 to 2.5 cm across that are penetrated with slender, dark green needles of Epidote. This cluster exposes the bright, satin lustered individual spheres well and is very three-dimensional. These are not the typical, barely translucent spheres associated with the usual blocky Epidote crystals as this cluster and its color, along with its luster are much more elegant! These Prehnites were discovered in this region and brought to market in the mid-1990s by Charlie's friends Rock Currier and Demetrius Pohl, from whom he surely sourced this for his personal collection.
