Quartz var. Amethyst (scepter)
Goboboseb, Erongo, Namibia
Small Cabinet, 6.9 x 2.2 x 1.4 cm
Ex. Shields and Frances Flynn
SOLD

This is an absolute jewel of a multi colored and complex quartz specimen from Goboboseb in Namibia. It's a wondrous scepter featuring a rich purple Amethyst stalk measuring 5 cm in length that is terminated at the bottom end and the dramatic top end has a spectacular "trident" of glassy, mostly transparent, lightly smoky hued, herkimer-like Quartz crystals for a scepter! The Amethyst portion of the scepter has amazing color and is completely gem throughout its length. The top termination is apparent on one side on its own and can be seen through the Smoky Quartz crystals of the scepter on the opposite side. The top of the scepter is actually composed of four, parallel growth, intergown, 1.5 to 2.1 cm, largest gem smoky tinged crystals that exhibit darker smoky highlights along the edges of the crystals for great combined aesthetic affect. This beauty is from the well known Shields and Frances Flynn collection, which we purchased several years ago. It is a rare elegance among others.
