These Hedenbergite-included Quartz crystals from China are some of the most beautiful and unusual of their kind, with an even and beautiful disseminated color throughout. This is a large and dramatic spray of stout, medium green Quartz crystals ranging from 1 to 4 cm in length that are heavily included by very fine Hedenbergite inclusions. Quartz colored by Hedenbergite like this are classically termed "prase" or "prasem" Quartz as originally found at Serifos Island in Greece, then later Dalnegorsk in Russia; and now a third location. The color in both cases also due to Hedenbergite inclusions. The specimens from the Huanggang mines in China upped the game on this varietal! This is a very aesthetic specimen with all of the Quartz points intact and they radiate from a central area forming mace-head like group that is incredibly three-dimensional. It's an outstanding piece with great balance and presentation. There is one small point of contact at the bottom and one crystal that is contacted on the backside, otherwise in excellent condition. This is from the 2018 finds at this locality and nothing like these have been found since. These sculptural Quartz crystals from China are on par with any other locality for the varietal. It is a beautifully complex cluster with multiple display angles and a wide variation of crystal sizes. This was purchased in China in the early days of Huanggang, 2008-2012, and was in the quartz collection of dealer and collector, Ken Roberts. Roberts was widely known for his fine eye for aesthetics and perfection.
