A beautiful and sharp specimen of the columbite series of minerals, actually quite remarkable quality for a San Diego Locality. This is from the collection of Bob Reynolds, former curator at the San Bernardino County Museum. He helped explore, mine, and finance specimens from this mining project and ended up with some really interesting pieces in his collection. Obtained directly from Ken and Dana Gochenour, mine owners, in the early 2000s (comes with both labels). Complete all around, superb front and back, a significant example of this species from any USA locale. This is a large thumbnail or "toenail" size.
