This is a gem Zircon thumbnail crystal from Burma. Like the others from the Larson Burma collection, it exhibits gem clarity, glassy luster, sublime amber-pink color and textbook form. It is a stout crystal measuring 1.7 cm in length with a square, 0.6 cm outline. This splendid Zircon has sharp tetragonal form and complete water-clear transparency. The pyramidal termination is very good with some minor crazing at the edges and the point is admittedly compromised by a tiny ding that is largely diminished in context of the great form, high luster and gem clarity. The opposing end is not terminated and displays a glassy conchoidal fracture. This zirconium silicate crystal has a mass of 4.38 grams. It also fluoresces a vibrant yellow in short wave UV and a subtle orange in long wave UV.
