This is a classic, beautiful Baryte from Baia Sprie, Romania. It is composed of numerous, diamond-shaped crystals of translucent to transparent, tabular Baryte with lovely yellow highlights around the edges. Analogous to the Realgar included Barytes from Romania, these are Orpiment included versions with vibrant yellow on select edges. There are at least two dozen lustrous Baryte crystals on this piece that display their own crystalline individuality. These Orpiment included Barytes are much less common than their Realgar included counterparts and this one is certainly one of the better examples of the few specimens that I have seen like this.
