Incredibly rare from Burma is this large, gem, green Peridot (a type of Forsterite) crystal. This tabular, almost spearpoint shaped crystal is almost completely gem and has a vibrant, medium green color that is even more intense-looking through the edges of the crystal. The crystal has slightly etched crystal faces giving it a delightful satiny luster - unique, compared to any other locality. These Burmese peridot are highly treasured there and most often cut, with few specimens surviving. This is not the biggest but is certainly one of the better, sharper crystals recovered. There is some minor whitish patches of Talc near the base for added contrast. This is a MAJOR and significant gem crystal for this region, one of the world's most highly valued gem deposits since ancient times. You simply never see such things for sale.
