Here we have two clear-capped Phenakite crystals in parallel growth some Quartz from Burma. The two Phenakite crystals measure 3 cm long each and 1.1 and 1 cm across respectively. The crystals are slender prismatic with a hexagonal outline and are milky white for much of their length and then have crystal clear caps at their pyramidal termination for dramatic effect. The Phenakites have a glassy luster with the crystal on the end of the piece in very good condition with the adjacent crystal having some minor contacting and there is actually two other incomplete crystals on the piece as well. Phenakite is a relatively uncommon beryllium silicate and matrix pieces like this are also uncommon. Parallel growth, moderately well formed, slightly Smoky Quartz crystals constitute the remainder of the piece and these are the "background" for the Phenakite crystals.
