One of Jack's older pieces, bought from his favorite dealer Walt Lidstrom in the 1970s, this is a Mexican rhodochrosite with a twist… a "beta-style" Quartz point sitting perfectly perched atop the rhodochrosite cluster! The rhodochrosite is already very good for the locality - with fabulous cherry color and glassy luster, although it has a few rub spots of damage as well. The pristine quartz perched atop is very unique, and dramatic.
