Pyrite with Quartz
Huaron Mine, Huayllay, Pasco province, Pasco, Peru
Small Cabinet, 6.7 x 4.6 x 4.8 cm
SOLD

This is a very attractive combination specimen from Peru featuring brilliant Pyrite cubes aesthetically fixed on a cluster of milky to colorless Quartz crystals. One Quartz crystal dominates the piece with nearly a dozen smaller Quartz crystals emanating from the base of the larger one. The Quartz crystals provide the infrastructure for the various clusters of incredibly bright clusters of Pyrite. There is a small Pyrite cluster at the base on the right side and another larger cluster above it separated by a several Quartz crystals. The largest Pyrite in this top group measures 1.3cm on edge and contributes to the great aesthetics of the piece. There are also a few small Pyrite crystals at the bottom left of the piece that provide balance. All of the Quartz crystals are terminated with some of them, like the large one, displaying multiple, parallel terminations on a small scale for added interest. Comes with a custom engraved acrylic base. While common enough in the mineral world out there, this specimen has a special look to it!
