Sulfur with Aragonite
Floristella Mine, Enna Province, Sicily, Italy
Small Cabinet, 5.5 x 3.9 x 3.9 cm
Ex. Mervyn Ford
SOLD

This is a stunning yellow cluster of Sulfur crystals from Italy! Bright lemon yellow, gemmy to translucent Sulfur crystals to 2.7cm in maximum dimension comprise almost the entirety of this small cabinet piece. Individual crystals are transparent to translucent and have sharp crystal faces and edges that display the typical resinous to bright luster. There is one small, 1cm aggregate of off-white Aragonite on the piece for added interest. Ex. Mervyn Ford collection with label. Ford was a well known English collector of aesthetic pieces in this size range.

Note... the style here seems more indicative of Cozzo Disi, but the historical labels accompanying the piece have it listed as Floristella.
