Fluorite (Red FL)
Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Small Cabinet, 6.0 x 3.6 x 3.0 cm
SOLD

A very fine miniature fluorite crystal from the Ojuela Mine Fluorite with great color and geometric forms! Under blacklight, this fluoresces a bright, neon red; a highly desired trait exhibited from a small lot of material found here. The main crystal, perched prominently at the top, is a glassy, 2.6cm elongated cube that displays dodecahedral faces which gives the edges an almost rounded look. The cube faces show both squarish and triangular growth patterns that add texture and appeal. There is also a little "ravine" that developed during growth that is apparent across the top third of the crystal that displays incipient growth forms, possibly indicating that it fractured during growth and rehealed. There are a few other variably complete crystals that serve as a base for the larger crystal. On the bottom backside, there are numerous, tiny, colorless Fluorites. Highly desirable, these unusual fluorites only come from the mine in small pockets, many years apart.
