Fluorite
Granite Quarry, Shannapheasteen, Connemara, County Galway, Connacht, Ireland
Small Cabinet, 6.6 x 6.1 x 4.4 cm
SOLD

This is an incredibly dark purple Fluorite from an uncommon Irish locality with very interesting sculptural form, and fine for the location! The main crystal and its subordinate ones are dominated by cube forms with dodecahedral modifications along the edges. Backlighting from the bottom reveals the intricacies of this intriguing Irish novelty! There is a 1cm purple phantom at the core of the main crystal, followed by a relatively thick medium blue-purple zone, then an intensely purple, 1cm rim! There are four other smaller crystal intergrown with the dominant crystal.
