Fluorite with Quartz and Muscovite
Pasto Bueno, Pallasca Province, Ancash, Peru
Cabinet, 9.8 x 6.2 x 5.0 cm
SOLD

Large and admirably sculptural, this bicolored Fluorite cluster originates from Pasto Bueno, Peru! The Fluorite cluster is composed of cubes with octahedral modifications displaying a green-blue core and a complexly patterned and discontinuous, dark purple outer zone. It is a somewhat rounded cluster with individual crystals to 2.5cm across. The Fluorite is accentuated by a spray of slender, clear Quartz crystals to nearly 3cm and there is some silvery Muscovite in association. Fluorite from Pasto Bueno is not common and even more rare in clusters of this size! A compelling cabinet specimen with great composition! This is a VERY unusual specimen that could at first glance, easily be mistaken for Chinese origins. Such surprises are what make collecting minerals, and particularly fluorite, all the more interesting!
