Thumbnail, 7 x 4 x 1 mm For what it is, this isolated single crystal is quite amazing! It is a sharp and colorful, somewhat gemmy example of this extremely rare and beautiful Yttrium carbonate species. I am told that it is among the top few specimens of the species from this locality, and in fact the third-largest crystal in overall size: "The large free crystal of 4 x 7 mm is completely exceptional. It is about the 3rd best known crystal of the layer and is consequently the 3rd best known crystal in the world, because the iimoriite (previously) known was not crystallized"
