Fluorapatite is uncommon from the great Chinese locality of Yaogangxian - or from anywhere in China, for some reason. This very nice miniature is a fine combination of Fluorapatite with Fluorite gem crystals. The larger, parallel-growth Fluorapatites are adorned with several smaller crystals, and they all have superb luster. The smaller of these crystals have clear, gemmy terminations, and a few are even doubly-terminated. The associated Fluorites are gem-clear, light purple, and they have strong and narrow purple phantoms within them. Both species have good fluorescence: the Fluorapatites yellow and the Fluorites purple-blue. This is a fine, delicate, and aesthetic combo piece that is representative of the good quality for both species from Yaogangxian. I believe it was mined in the last few years. I have not seen others.
