A very unusual chatoyant green Elbaite Tourmaline piece from Pakistan! Tightly grouped and slightly divergent, pistachio green Elbaite Tourmaline prisms all exhibit a bright chatoyance and luster throughout their length. All of the component crystals display a dark green, gemmy cap...on both ends! The heft of the group seems somewhat light and a broken crystal on the side reveals that it is hollow suggesting a complicated history for this Tourmaline! No less than two dozen crystals constitute this beautiful and perplexing piece. The gem green terminations on the top end are flat, chapped and lustrous. Terminations on the tapered opposing end are a mosaic of small pyramids and also lustrous. The one broken crystal on the side is the only casualty on the piece and is barely noticeable yet it divulges the piece's convoluted history. Elegant and unusual, it must be seen in person to be appreciated fully for the play of colors on the surface.
