Opal replacing Mollusk fossil
Coober Pedy, Central North, South Australia, Australia
Thumbnail, 2.8 x 2.1 x 0.9 cm
SOLD

A classic, symmetrical and beautiful opalized mollusk from the famous Coober Pedy Opal Field of South Australia. This lightly-buffed beauty has excellent lavender color, and the streak of neon green and red-orange fire along with some lavender flashes really sets off this distinctive opalized fossil! This is an excellent and above-average quality opalized shell from this well-known locale. It is more complete and richer in color, than most. It is very visibly colorful and translucent. Weight 4.6g. Ex. David A. Schorsch collection.
