Phantoms and color zoning are some of the reasons so many collectors are enthralled with Fluorite, and it’s easy to see why in this piece! This miniature hosts a dazzling, lustrous, transparent, 2.5cm, Fluorite cube with a distinctive purple core, a large pale aqua colored zone followed by a thin, but crisp, dark purple zone near the rim. The prominent Fluorite sets atop a roughly pyramidal piece of matrix decorated by a cluster of snow white calcite plates (that are fluorescent!) just down-slope from the Fluorite and a plethora of 2 to 3mm rosettes of Muscovite grace much of the specimen for a perfect accent. The Fluorite has a small cleave on the bottom backside that isn't noticeable from the front. A super attractive miniature! This is a smaller mine, often confused with Hunan's Yaogangxian, but distinct to my eye.
