STUNNING COLOR marks this fluorite piece from a very small pocket of early 2018! Few have seen these, and this might be the only smaller one in this size range, so far as I know. It is a cluster of deep, mint-green Fluorites from the renowned Yaogangxian Mine. The Fluorite crystals are gemmy all the way down to the cluster's white, translucent core, and the dominant faces are stepped and very glassy. These larger faces contrast nicely with the smaller faces, which have a preferential, drusy Quartz coating. Preferential effects are always cool, and add so much to the visual and mineralogical interest. There is a narrow purple zone just below the surface, and the Fluorites have a strong blue fluorescence. In shape, this is a good, representative specimen for Yaogangxian, with fine aesthetics...but it is the color that stands out. Hard to convey in photos, the color is "alive" and intense in person.
