Rare for the location, and exceptional for size and quality, this pink Fluorapophyllite is from the well-known Huanggang mining complex in Inner Mongolia. The gemmy, pink Apophyllites range up to 7 mm on edge, and the pearly to vitreous luster is superb. The matrix is almost completely covered by hundreds of these crystals, and there is little wear on them. This large cab is transcendent for Huanggang, and even brighter and more scintillating in person. These came out sporadically around 2012-2014 it seems, and nothing since. This is a large, sparkling, unusual specimen from China of a species that is quite rare there.
