Stolzite
Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia
Small Cabinet, 9.4 x 8.0 x 3.9 cm
Ex. Robert Sielecki
SOLD
One of the richest overall specimens of this species we have seen, this is the cabinet piece formerly in the Mike Groben collection, and then in the Rob Sielecki Collection. It is a museum worthy plate of sparkle and color, with hundreds of crystals of this rare species all over it. Clearly exhibiting tetragonal symmetry, this uncommon member of the scheelite group, which includes wulfenite and powellite, nearly covers the display face of this specimen. These lustrous crystals of stolzite reach 3 mm across and exhibit a bright orange color.
