FLYNNC-11
Calcite with Dioptase Inclusions
Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Small Cabinet, 8.5 x 4.9 x 3.8 cm
Ex. Shields and Frances Flynn
SOLD

Glassy and translucent rhombohedrons of normally colorless calcite, to 1.8 cm across, are heavily included by bright, emerald green dioptase. A rare association known ONLY from a few major pockets of the mid-1980s, in Tsumeb, these are almost never for sale. For the size range, a very cute specimen. It is undamaged in the core, with only some removal damage to the calcite around the periphery, and displays beautifully.
