A striking, variably blue specimen of botryoidal hemimorphite, with a glistening adamantine luster. The main portion of the piece is barrel shaped and almost pseudo-hexagonal with a "bubbly" top surface. It is variegated light sky blue and a very pale whitish blue with the entire surface of the piece shimmers due to the tiny hemimorphite crystals. Turning the piece over, it can be seen that the hemimorphite is coating thinly banded, cream colored, travertine-like calcite that has experienced some dissolution. The distinctive shape and texture adds wonderful aesthetics to this beautiful specimen. This small cabinet piece is of exceptional quality for the locale. It has a stunning luster and sparkle to it, and is quite different than most. In a word, it is somehow "cute."
